Our Little Fairy - Happy Halloween!

Kate made a great fairy tonight - Thanks Grammy for helping with the costume! She loved knocking on the doors and saying "Trick-or-Treat". We went to the seminary to visit our friends and also stopped by to see our neighbors.

A Day at the Zoo!

It was a beautiful fall day today so we took Kate to the zoo this morning. We saw a lion eating a pumpkin about 1 foot away from us, three baby snow leopards, a polar bear pushing a big ball with his nose, and rode the carousel two times. The carousel was definitely the favorite! Hopefully, we will be able to squeeze in one more visit before it gets too cold.

Kate's Pumpkins

Kate enjoyed her weekend with Grandma Lois and Aunt Stephanie. We had fun carving her pumpkin & lit it tonight for a trial run. She had to check out what exactly was inside her pumpkin making it glow so nicely!
Good thing Kate didn't see Dad doing this...Great Carving Dad!

Our Little Chef

Kate loves to be in the kitchen observing and helping Dad make lunch. She also has taken to lining up her grapes in a neat row and counting them - Is she a first born or what?

It's A Baby Shower!

I have such wonderful friends who threw us a lovely shower - Thank you for making it such a special day!
Kate played with the balloons from the shower all night long - I will have to remember to get lots of balloons for her birthday!

We're Getting Bigger ....

Appointment Update (26 Weeks):

Finally we were able to get some profile shots at our appointment today with the perinatologist. They definitely look identical to us and even have a similar profile to Kate's ultrasound pictures. Yes, everyone (myself, Abigail & Eveline) are all getting bigger.

I have gained 33 lbs. so far, Baby A now weighs 2 lbs. and Baby B weighs 1lb. 13 oz. There is not a significant concern unless the measurement and weight differences exceed 20% - Right now we are at approximately 9%. It will be something they will keep monitoring going forward.

We are so thankful that everyone is doing well & can't wait to see them again in two weeks.

I also miraculously passed the Glucose Test so no Gestational Diabetes this time around - Praise the Lord!

Fall Leaves & Pumpkins

Kate helped Dad rake the leaves in the backyard today and received much joy from playing in them.

Also, she has 6 pumpkins on our porch and loves them - They get hugs and high fives several times a day. We hope to carve them this weekend as long as it won't cause Kate too much pain.

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things ....

Just a couple of pictures of Kate's favorite things to do with her Dad:

-Reading tons and tons of books. Kate can quote lots of lines from The Big Red Barn. It is fun to watch and listen to her "read" on her own.

-Laying down on the grass in our backyard to look at the airplanes that fly overhead. Our all-time record is eight planes in about 45 minutes!

Ole! Ole!

Kate put this bowl on her head several weeks ago and told me it was a hat. Tonight she put her bowl on and informed Steve and I that she was wearing a sombrero. Her vocabulary is expanding every day and she loves to read (which is where she picked up sombrero). What a ham!

Go Daddy Go!

Kate had a terrific time going to Steve's softball game on Friday night. She cheered from the stands while some of the other wives watched her for us. It was pretty chilly (in the 50's) so she was well bundled, but despite the cold she was really wound up when she got home. When I asked her what she got to do she told me in her words "Yellow" (apparently there was a yellow softball), "Doggy Kiss" (Thanks Rascal!), "Hit", and "Catch" (she has the main gist of the game down including her game face!)

I am sure that she will be thrilled to be the official bat girl in a few years!

Baby Update:
I survived the 3 hr glucose test today (barely) and hope to have the results back next week. I am already planning for the worst - that I will have gestational diabetes again - so I am enjoying eating an unrestricted diet for the next few days.

Baby Update

Appointment Update (24 Weeks):

We had an appointment at the perinatologist this morning and both the girls are looking great! Baby A was 1lb 9oz and Baby B was 1lb 8oz. We go back in two weeks for another appointment.

Once again, they were head down and face down which meant no pictures so instead you are stuck with a picture from the outside. It is hard to believe that we have only 12 weeks left until they are considered full-term. Scary!

Names & Nursery

We have officially decided on names: Abigail Faith and Eveline Grace

My mom's name is Gayle and my aunt's name is Evelyn. The middle names were ones we just really liked together. I think we are going to wait to see each girl before we decide who is who.

Thanks to my good friends Carrie and Cheri we now have a painted nursery. They worked tirelessly today to finish - We couldn't have done it without them! I am hoping to have everything in place over the next few weeks and will share more pictures as things come together.

These Boots Were Made For Walking!

Kate was thrilled by her new snow boots and couldn't wait to try 'em out. The color is even worthy of a Grammy outfit! She also went for a ride in her wagon to check out the neighborhood. On our walk this morning she saw a hot air balloon, a helicopter, a butterfly, and a bunny. All in all - a very good day!
